Deadlock Bebop Guide for Beginners

Bebop is one of the first heroes most new players fall for in Deadlock, and it is easy to see why. He is a big robot with a hook, a sticky bomb, and a laser, so the fantasy sells itself. He is also one of those heroes who feels amazing when you land your shots and feels rough when you miss, which makes him a great teacher. This guide walks you through the basics so you stop whiffing hooks into walls.

Deadlock is still an invite-only test as of June 2026, with roughly 38 heroes in rotation and concurrent counts hovering around 60k to 125k depending on the day. There is no live skin market yet, and the meta gets reshuffled almost every patch, so treat everything below as direction and not gospel. Deadlock Bebop

Role and playstyle

Bebop is a pick-off and zone-control hero. His whole game plan is hook an enemy out of position, stick a bomb on them, and either delete them solo or drag them into your team. He is strong in lanes, terrifying around corners, and he scales hard with Spirit because his bomb damage grows with it. Think of him less as a pure carry and more as a playmaker who decides fights before they start.

His kit, in plain terms:

The signature combo is bomb yourself, hook the enemy onto you so the bomb transfers, uppercut, then beam. When it all connects a squishy target is just gone.

Item build direction

Items in Deadlock are bought with Souls and split across three colors: Weapon (green), Vitality (purple), and Spirit (orange). Bebop usually leans Spirit because his bomb scales with it, but you still want enough Vitality to survive walking into the enemy. Do not copy a fixed list, read the lobby and adjust. Here is a directional shopping plan by tier.

PhaseWeaponVitalitySpirit
Early (lane)cheap fire-rate or ammo to win tradeshealth regen and extra HP to stay in lanea starter Spirit item to push bomb damage
Midlight weapon scaling if you are farming creepsresists vs whoever is bursting youcore Spirit power and cooldown
Latesituational onlysurvivability and an escape or save itemheavy Spirit amp so the bomb one-shots squishies

General rule: prioritize Spirit for damage, buy Vitality reactively so you do not get blown up the moment you hook in, and only invest Weapon when the game wants you farming or auto-attacking.

Practical tips

Land your hooks, respect your big hitbox, and lean into Spirit. That is most of Bebop right there. The rest is just reps.
